::Biography::
Katie blew on her first saxophone at the age of 12, after already becoming proficient in piano and violin. She went on to master the instrument at the same time as studying Fine Art and Performing Arts.
She did not neglect her love for music, practising and playing with bands throughout her studies. It was then that she first discovered her unique fascination with jazz, obsessively collecting old recordings from the masters and attending live gigs, learning all she could on the way.
When she moved to Greece to work as a freelance painter, she was soon employed in one of the main symphony orchestras. This was when her jazz saxophone career really took off and she was quickly snapped up by various singers and DJs, playing in all the main clubs and music venues.
On returning to London, Katie continued to play with DJs in club venues, and set up her own jazz band. She now performs with a variety of musicians all round the country and overseas.
She enjoys playing a contrast of styles in a variety of venues, including both dinner jazz as well as contemporary dance and chill beats. In addition to a busy schedule of touring and gigging, she has also completed her debut solo jazz album, "Whatever" , which was released in October 2007. The first Red Dog album is due for release in April 2008.
Katie now lives in North London where she has her music studio while at the same time maintaining her art studio in Greece which she visits frequently.
